Great site!

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Good evening, and thanks for the chance to be a part of your blog!  The site looks great.  I’m part of a group of guys coming to Lobo’s to fish the weekend of March 7, 8 and 9.  We have been fishing the Little Red for 6 years, but this will be our first trip to Lobo’s.  We’re really looking forward to visiting!

Can’t wait to hit the river in March, we’ll see you then.

Fishing Report 1-18-08

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

Hey Everyone.

WE FINALY HAVE A BREAK IN THE WATER!!!

We have low water in the mornings, and fishing couldn’t be better.

Fly fishing:

We are having great mornings.  The water is down, so dead drifting is working great.  Sowbugs size 14 and 16 are killing em.  Copper Johns size 14, and zebra midges size 18 and 20 are also doing very well.  The Water is comeing up here at Lobo around 1:00, so fight the cold and get out there early.

 Spin Fishing:

In the mornings on low water waxworms have been the key.  Fish them about 18 inches off the bottom and float them with a yellow power egg or a marsh mellow.  Once the water gets up lure fishing is still doing great.  A bunch of big fish have been caught on Countdown Rapalas.  All colors are working but mainly the orange belly, or the brown or rainbow trout patterns.

Good Luck, and see you on the river.

Chris

 What does the trip include?

A full day of fishing from a brand new Top Water 20 foot river boat, with me as you guide, and with Odie the dock Lab.

Use of all new preuim Equipment (rods, reels, line, tippets, hand tied flies, leaders, and any other equipment needed.)

Lunch on the river.

Pick up and drop off from where ever you are staying.  (as long as its pretty close, sorry but I’m not driving to LR.)

If anyone has any questions feel free to give me a call.

Thanks

Chris Butts

Fishing Report 1-4-08

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Man its cold.  Not much has changed this week on the river.  They are still running 2 units close to around the clock.  Check out last weeks Fishing report on how to fish this high water.

There have been some some nice Fish caught all this water this week.  The high water also allows you to see parts of the river that are usually off limits.  The fishing has been great up river.  Alot of big fish have been caught on plugs and streamers above Libby.

You can’t catch em if you don’t have a line in the water.

Thanks

Chris

Here is a pic of the biggest trout I have ever seen caught on a fly rod.  It was caught on a guided trip that was guided by Jamie Rouse (www.jamierouse.net)  This Monster was caught about a month a go.
